I’m Gabriel Grillo, I’m a Java Developer for Arnie. I’ve been at Yarris since May 2022. When I read about Yarris, I knew that I wanted to work for this great company and luckily my dream came true.
I began my journey as a Software Engineer studying at the Argentine National University. I even got a job as a Java Developer for a global company while was studying and finally graduated in 2015.
I really enjoy programming. I love what I do, and in the future, I see myself leading large software projects. What I enjoy most about my job is being able to provide solutions for companies to facilitate their daily work. It is gratifying to see the software one has created being used by large corporations providing efficient solutions.
The most challenging part of my job is to keep up to date. Nowadays, there are new technologies, programming languages and tools constantly emerging. These can help a lot, but it is impossible to know everything, which is why it is important to be discerning about which continuing education to be involved in, basically, where to place one’s focus to most effective in this field.
Even from the time I was in high school, I knew that I wanted to work with computers. When I finished high school, my father gave me the choice of going on a graduation trip or buying my first computer for university. We could not afford both. I chose the computer and from that day on, I knew that it was what I wanted to do for my whole life.
Outside of work, you will find me running, swimming and cycling, as I love triathlon, but it is often difficult to find time to train for all three disciplines. I love to stay active.
